Since the 1920’s a Shrine to Saint Philomena the Wonderworker has been in existence in Scotland at the Carfin Lourdes Grotto near Motherwell. This Shrine is now known as the UK National Shrine to Saint Philomena. This is the only Shrine to St Philomena in existence within the United Kingdom. It is a very beautiful, special place of peace to visit. As you sit within the Glass Chapel which is dedicated to the exposition of the Most Blessed Sacrament and look to the right, St Philomena's Shrine can be clearly seen.
