MailerPro Installation

Welcome to Installation Help

This won't take up to much of your time as installing MailerPro™ is a simple operation.

Step One

Before you upload MailerPro™ to your Web Site you will need to make a number of changes to the "conn.asp". Open the file in your
favorite text editor like Note Pad and change the following.

You can either use Access, MS SQL 2000 or MYSQL database choose which one by uncommenting one of these two lines.

'DataBaseType = "access" 'uncomment this line if you wish to use Access Database
'DataBaseType = "mssql"  'uncomment this line if you wish to use MS SQL 2000 Database
'DataBaseType = "mysql"  'uncomment this line if you wish to use MYSQL Database

If you chose Access as your Database you need to enter the full path to the database example
"C:\websites\mysite\db"  , NO Trailing Slash .

IF YOU NEED TO USE THE SERVER.MAPPATH EXAMPLE: AccessDatabasePath = Server.MapPath("\mailerpro20")
CHANGE THE "\mailerpro20" TO THE FOLDER THE DATABASE IS IN AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE BACK SLASH \
AND NO TRAILING SLASH. AND DON'T USE THE BEGINING AND ENDING " " EXCEPT THE ONES BETWEEN THE BRACKETS.

AccessDatabasePath = "databasepath" 'enter between the "" the full path to the database. NO trailing slash. If using Server.MapPath delete the "".

AccessDatabaseName = "mailerpro.mdb"   'enter between the "" the name of Database here, if you have renamed it enter that name.

If you have chosen MSSQL or MYSQL you will need to enter the info to these lines.

sqlServerName = "server name"        'enter between the "" the MS SQL Server Name, could be either a IP or Domain Name
sqlDatabaseName = "database name"  'enter between the "" the Database Name.
sqlPassword = "password"                   'enter between the "" the Password for Database.
sqlUserID = "user id"                          'enter between the "" the User ID for Database.

If your not sure of any of the above contact your Administrator or Web Host.

That's all you need to do, make sure everything is accurate and save the file.

If you have chosen MS SQL the script will automatically place all Table, Procedures and Indexes into your Database when you first login.

Step Two

Uploading, we recommend that you use FrontPage to publish your MailerPro™ script. As it will create a folder with the correct
permissions for the database.

If haven't FrontPage then use your favorite FTP Client  to upload. But remember  you will have to set the permissions for the
database folder manually.

Step Three

Once you have uploaded the script to your web site. Open the default.asp or login.asp with your browser, since it's your first
time it will re-direct you to the registration page. Here you need to enter your License ID to register you installation. You require
a separate license for each installation of MailerPro™ . Once the registration is complete you will be provided a link to click which
will direct you to the Setup Page. If you require help with the setup just click the Online Help which will open a Help Window displaying
information concerning Setup.

Upgrading

For those who are upgrading from a previous version we have a upgrade function that will allow you to transfer your lists from the
old database to lists in the new database. This can be accessed via the Setup Options. You must make sure you are transferring to a list
with the exact same fields as being a different database structure the script can't compare or check fields.

Well there are, like I said installation is a pretty simple affair.

Yours Sincerely
Tassietek Staff
